Way back in 1993 two amazing musicians got together and recorded some tunes and printed some CD’s. They called themselves, Mary Carves The Chicken. Well, those CD’s have been sold out for a while. But now, thanks to the magic of the internet, Mary Carves The Chicken’s self-titled first CD is now available at your online music stores.
Sure, you’ve heard “2 A.M. In Texas”, “Bad Hair Day”, the classic “Goldfish In A Blender”, and crowd favorite “Girl Who Cuts My Grass” before. But this is remastered, sounds amazing and will take you back to the place when you first heard them.
So go to your online music outlets and get MCTC’s very first album. The self-titled CD “Mary Carves The Chicken”.
Keep checking back because we’re currently re-releasing “Welcome To Hollywood” with the song Simi Valley, “MCTC 3″ with the song Shoulda Thought About It, & “Critically Acclaimed, Number One, Smash
Hit, Triple Platinum, Debut Record” with the tunes Half Empty & Come On Over. Those are set to go live online very soon.
Also, Page Jackson’s solo CD’s will be released online also as well as Bob & Page’s other project “The Muddflaps, featuring Gretchen Bonaduce & Chris Doohan” 4 song EP.
David’s other project “Country Gone Awry” should be releasing their 3 song EP soon also.
So MCTC and all our side projects should be available for everyone to enjoy very soon.
Re-Mastered & Re-released1
A long and overdue post15
Hey guys,
Let me start off by saying, yes, we’re still around. We’ve been working on some new material that will rock your socks off. We’ve also been playing here and there, but it’s been few and far between gigs.
Our last gig was interesting to say the least. We were scheduled to play the KHAY radio benefit for Children’s Hospital. A very good cause. We showed up an hour before our start time, which was 10:00. Page was sick as a dog but managed to pull himself out of bed to play. Well, 10 o’clock came and David’s other band “Country Gone Awry” had not even taken the stage yet. And they were scheduled to start at 9:15. By 11:00pm “CGA” finally went on stage but there was still another band to go on after them and before “MCTC”. Meanwhile, Page was getting worse with his flu and the radio station basically, gave us the choice to wait it out or cancel our performance. With Page being that sick it was in the best interest of Page’s health to cancel. It was disappointing but it had to be done. We apologize for that.
We are playing at the Blue Ultra Lounge again on June 20th. We’re playing along with the, “safest rock and roll band”, The Muddflaps w/ Gretchen Bonaduce. This is a fun group of guys (and gal) and you might recognize one of the guitar players and bass player as our very own Bob & Page.
If you haven’t picked up a copy of “Love & Respect”, why haven’t you? It’s available on Itunes and most of the other online music stores. Come on!
We’ll try not to be so long between posts.
See ya at Blue,
Bob, Page, & David
Blue Ultra Lounge & Happy Holidays10
Well, the numbers were small but loud. MCTC was scheduled to play a 45min set. But the band scheduled to go on after us cancelled. So, we got to play 90mins. That was fun. We played songs we weren’t expecting to play and even when we were done, the sound guy said “play a few more”. Who were we too disappoint? All in all it was a fun night and judging by the crowd, most of you missed it. We’ll forgive you. It was a Thursday (and cold) night right before the holidays.
Now, we’re going to take a little holiday break (I know, we’ve been on break for 2 years). If you haven’t picked up the new CD, it’s available online at any of the music download sites. We wish everyone a Happy Christmahanukkwanzza, Happy New Year and we’ll see you on the other side of the calander.
Cool time in Simi Valley0
Happy Holidays to everyone. MCTC played a Toys For Tots Drive in Simi Valley yesterday and we had a ton of fun. The Marines collected over $500 in cash and filled numerous boxes and a Humvee with toys for needy children. We had a blast and the weather was great. It wasn’t 85 degrees but on stage it felt like it. It was great to see so many familiar faces out there rockin’ out to some new tunes and a few old ones also. We played for about an hour and can’t wait to play next week at the Blue Ultra Lounge in Agoura Hills.
Hope to see some more familiar folks out there.
Hey Anne, book your flight and come out to see us!
No way! A new post from MCTC? Yep.26
We know, it’s been a while since we posted a blog. We’ve been busy, trust us. We played a 15 minute semi-acoustic set for KHAY radio this past Saturday. KHAY was hosting a benefit for our troops. They were collecting pre-paid phone cards to send to our troops so they can call home for the holidays. All it took was the first song of our set to get the radio station and the folks at the benefit hooked as new MCTC fans. The song we used to hook them………”I Don’t Mind A Girl (with a couple extra pounds)” then “Days A Wastin’”, ”Jackrabbit Run & Persuaded” from the new CD and finished with “Simi Valley” because afterall, we played in Simi’s sister city of Thousand Oaks. We gave out bumper stickers and a few CD’s of Love & Respect. (Yes, we now have CD’s) But give us sometime to have our webmaster general update the site with our online store. If you can’t wait for the physical CD to go on sale, go to Itunes or Rhapsody or wherever you download music and buy it. Then we’ll let you know when we’re ready with our online store, so you can buy the physical copy also and give that as a present. The gift of music is “A Beautiful Thing” (why is that in quotes? Look at the track listing for Love & Respect on our music page and you’ll get the joke) That’s it for now.
Oh wait, not done yet. MCTC is playing at the Toys For Tots concert at the Simi Valley Town Center on Dec. 2nd. That is open to the public, just bring an unwrapped toy for some lucky child. We go on around 12:30.
We are also making a guest appearance at Fairfax High School’s Christmas show to play a few MCTC original holiday tunes. I know what your thinking……MCTC holiday tunes? Yep. Page wrote one last year called “Christmahannakwanza” and this years offering is “Santa Clause In Blue”. One holiday song a year. So be ready for MCTC’s new 10 song holiday CD in 2015.
And now that the CD is done, MCTC is gonna hit the scene and play some shows, so be sure to check the webpage or myspace page for upcoming shows. I think the recording break was a little longer then we expected, so be prepared to get ROCKED by us because we have alot of rockin out to do.
Until then……..
