More updates to CD-buying goodness

Hey y’all… just wanted you to know that we are adding more links to download our albums every day. Note right there on the left <<<< that you have some links to buy the new Love & Respect CD. If you go to the album listing on our web site, you can see the current places that each CD is available for download.

One other thing… we played a party the other night in LA. Just wanted to post up a vid of Love and Respect live.

Re-Mastered & Re-released

Way back in 1993 two amazing musicians got together and recorded some tunes and printed some CD’s. They called themselves, Mary Carves The Chicken. Well, those CD’s have been sold out for a while. But now, thanks to the magic of the internet, Mary Carves The Chicken’s self-titled first CD is now available at your online music stores.
Sure, you’ve heard “2 A.M. In Texas”, “Bad Hair Day”, the classic “Goldfish In A Blender”, and crowd favorite “Girl Who Cuts My Grass” before. But this is remastered, sounds amazing and will take you back to the place when you first heard them.
So go to your online music outlets and get MCTC’s very first album. The self-titled CD “Mary Carves The Chicken”.
Keep checking back because we’re currently re-releasing “Welcome To Hollywood” with the song Simi Valley, “MCTC 3” with the song Shoulda Thought About It, & “Critically Acclaimed, Number One, Smash
Hit, Triple Platinum, Debut Record” with the tunes Half Empty & Come On Over. Those are set to go live online very soon.
Also, Page Jackson’s solo CD’s will be released online also as well as Bob & Page’s other project “The Muddflaps, featuring Gretchen Bonaduce & Chris Doohan” 4 song EP.
David’s other project “Country Gone Awry” should be releasing their 3 song EP soon also.
So MCTC and all our side projects should be available for everyone to enjoy very soon.

Ok everyone,

The time is finally here! The brand new 16 song CD by Mary Carves The Chicken titled “Love & Respect” is available now for download purchases. Now, we would love to give all our friends and family free copies but that’s not possible. We’ve spent a lot of hours away from our families, not to mention a ton of cash for studio time, mixing, mastering, and all the in-betweens. This has been MCTC’s biggest project to date and a labor of love for Bob, Page, & David. We are extremely proud of the work we have done on it as well as the hard work that Samur at Mad Dog Studios and Pete at Universal Mastering have done to give you the best CD we could possibly give you. We have spent the better part of 4 years writing these tunes. Together, the three of us have rehearsed, arranged, changed, and added our own style and talent to make each song on this CD a little bit of ourselves.

So where can you get the CD? You can get the CD at Itunes, Napster, Rhapsody, MusicNet, eMusic, or Sony Connect.

For the old fashioned folks who like a physical CD, be patient. They should be availiable in about a month or so.

Please go to one of these sites and have a listen to what we’ve been talking about the past year or so. You won’t be disappointed. And if you like what you hear, please, please, please tell your friends and family and tell them to tell their friends and family and so on and so on.

We hope you enjoy it.

Much love, David, Page & Bob

New Songs! New Songs!

4 brand new songs from our upcoming CD “Love and Respect” have been added to our Myspace page! Just to give you all a little taste of what we’ve been working on. We know it’s been a while, but we wanted to give you the best CD MCTC possibly could. We’re only giving up 4 songs before we release the CD. OK 5, if you count the one somebody leaked, but due to the fact she’s the official “keeper” of MCTC, we wouldn’t dare say anything to her about it (more sucking up). But hey, that’s more then most bands do. They release only one song before their CD comes out. And their CD’s only have 11 or 12 songs at most. We’re giving you 16! And while you’re looking over our myspace page, check out the new pics from our rooftop party in Downtown LA, studio pics, and one pic that’s a new spin on the legendary MCTC pic from way back in the day. Our webpage should be updated in the next few weeks or so with songs and photos also. That way you don’t have to run all over the web looking for us. Not that you all aren’t running around the web anyways. We’ll keep you posted.

Hey Everybody! MCTC’s country music alter-ego, Double-Wide, will be featured on KHAY in Ventura (FM 100.7) this Friday night, Feb. 2nd. The show is called “15 Minutes of Fame” and they will play an interview with Page, as well as a couple of songs from the Double-Wide album “Critically-Acclaimed, Number-One, Smash Hit, Triple-Platinum Debut Record.  Unfortunately, they don’t do streaming internet feeds, so unless you are local, chances are you won’t hear it unless we record it and post it… hmmm………

The show starts at 9:00 pm, and we should be on about 9:20, give or take a few minutes. Also, if you like our country stuff, we’ve posted some country tunes on our MySpace site.

In other exciting news, we are done recording our newest album of 16 songs. We are in the process of mastering, and will be burning CD’s soon!! Gigs will follow!!

Oh, and hey – we sent our very first newsletter out today. If you didn’t get it, boohoo for you! What are you waiting for? Sign up to get it already! There’s a link on the left sidebar of The Blog, or you can just do it here.

Thanks for all your support

Happy Holidays

happy damn holidays...arfHappy Holidays y’all. Make sure you visit our latest endeavor… Make sure to leave us a comment, either here, in our MySpace blog, or in the Christmahanukkwanzaa blog and let us know what you think about the site and the song. Thanks! And Happy Christmahanukkwanzaa to you!

Yipee! MCTC is done mixing!

Wow, after what seemed like a marathon weekend locked at Mad Dog Studios, we are done mixing. Samur, our engineer, is simply the best. I don’t thing he ever walked out of the control room the whole 12 hours we were there on Saturday. Not even to use the bathroom. Which, by the way, wasn’t being used by Page either. (Page, what conclusions did you come to with that high tech, top secret, scientific experiment?) We’ve got the wave files of all the tunes and we’ll be off to mastering. After that, it’s art work, and to the press. Then we will unleash this monster of a CD on the world. Stay tuned!

Tracking is done!

Hey all,

Well all the recording on the new CD is finally done. We are now mixing. So it won’t be long till the finished CD is available to the world. Once it’s done, look for us to start playing gigs. Bob & Page played a faculty picnic in Simi last Sunday. I unfortunately couldn’t make it due to a previous commitment with another band. But I did happen to make it to the picnic as they were packing up the gear. So I guess I did make the gig, sort of. I promise you all that I will not be missing anymore MCTC gigs in the future. We actually rehearsed last Tuesday and what a blast it was. Since I’m the new guy here we have to run through the old MCTC tunes because, although I’ve heard them numerous times, I’ve never played them on the drums before. So it’s learning new songs for me. That’s my favorite part of playing drums. Learning new tunes. I hope I do them justice because I tend to put my own creativity into my playing. I’m sure if I go too “Neil Peart” on them, Bob & Page will reel me back in. We are going to play some after-summer rooftop party that’s going to be a kick. I can’t wait for that. Also, we are almost done with “The Bowlwinders” CD. Now that is an experience! Those songs are unbelievably hilarious. It’s hard to keep a straight face listening to those tunes. Keep checking back for more updates.

See ya, David

OK, One more time!

Who reads this stuff? Hello? This mic on? (tap, tap, tap) Well, MCTC is going back to Mad Dog Studio’s this Saturday to finish up on “3 Days To Live”. Bob will finish laying down his absolutely wicked guitar leads. I tell you all, some of the stuff Bob can get out of his guitars makes me think he is posessed by the ghost of Robert Johnson at the crossroads. Simply amazing stuff. And the “other” member of MCTC is coming down from the Bay Area to lay down some keyboards. I’m excited about that, because I don’t know him and I’ll get to finally meet him face to face. And hearing keyboards added to what we already have is going to be insane. Then it’s mixed, mastered, and pressed. Then we’ll be ready to share this with the world.

Later, David

(Hey Lori, The happy faces aren’t working. Unless I’m doing something wrong)

MCTC Recording sessions

Hey all,

The recording sessions for “3 Days To Live” are just about done. A few minor fixes left. But what is done sounds freakin’ awesome! We got rough cuts on CD’s last night at about 1am. I’m tired today, but I’m listening to the CD right now, as I type this blog, and it’s totally getting my energy level up. I can’t wait till the final mix. This stuff will knock your socks off. This 16 song CD will have a little bit of everything, rock, country, pop, blues. Everyones tastes should be satisfied. More as we progress.

Later, David
